What you'll learn
- Techniques in physical security environments using emergency management and criminal activity prevention scenarios.
- Complete Provincial Security Guard license training and/or Private Investigator license training.
- Understand and apply investigation techniques including interviewing and evidence collection.
- Learn the application of risk assessments and other environmental safety measures.
- Understand different surveillance techniques used in criminal detection and prevention careers.
- Compare protection and security systems.
- Explore stress management in protection, security and investigation careers.
- Compare technology and methods used in investigations.
- Complete industry required report writing and court document preparation.
Receive a dual diploma in Police Foundations or Community and Justice Services with one additional year.
Program Length
2 academic years (periods of 8 months)
Fast Track allows students to complete a two-year Diploma program (non co-op) in 16 months. Students will start in January and be in school for four continuous semesters: Winter, Spring/Summer, Fall and Winter. Students will not be off during the summer.
Co-op option - Not available with Fast Track. Optional after semester one.

- OSSD or equivalent (Mohawk Academic Upgrading, GED) including:
- Grade 12 English, C or U or equivalent
Options are available for mature applicants.
Language Requirements for Applicants with English as a Second Language
- See below for accepted equivalents for Grade 12 English:
- Successful completion of the GAS-English for Academic Purposes (478 or 278) program
- TOEFL minimum score of 550 (80 Internet based)
- or IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5

Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English.
