The Neng Wang Scholarship Encourages Mohawk Grads to Give Back
As an international student, Neng Wang felt a strong sense of belonging at Mohawk College, a school which he says changed his life. Studying at Mohawk helped Wang develop a sense of belonging here in Canada.
Wang, who was a financial assistance recipient says he decided to “give back to my school just like someone did for me when I was at school,” which is why he established the Neng Wang Scholarship. The award, which Wang hopes will inspire other international students in the Insurance program, is meant to make “other students feel loved and cared for by Mohawk and MoCrews,” Wang says.
Nang encourages other Mohawk alumni to give back to the school that gave so much to him. “Never forget where you are from, and what Mohawk gave to us,” he says. “Let’s give back. Let’s make Mohawk proud of us.”
