Becky Ellis (she/her) is a professor of Environmental Sustainability in the School of Liberal and Administrative Studies. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from Western University, and a Ph.D. in Human Geography from Western University. She is the author of the book Capitalist Agriculture and the Global Bee Crisis, published by Routledge Press (2023). Her research interests include global agricultural systems; human/animal relationships; multispecies commoning; and the creation of sustainable and socially just cities in the context of climate change. Currently, she is part of a SSHRC-funded research project focused on the obstacles to and opportunities for urban agriculture initiatives in the city of London (Ontario). In her free time, Becky enjoys gardening, cycling, playing the banjo, participating in social justice and environmental advocacy, and spending time with her dogs and cats.
