I am a graduate of Mohawk College from the Registered Nursing Diploma Program. I have always enjoyed learning, so after I had our 4 children, I went back to school. I got my Bachelor of Nursing and then Masters of Nursing degrees. I understand what it is like to be working, a mother and a student all at the same time.
Nursing has been a wonderful and adventurous career for me. I have had the privilege of working in many areas such as mental health, surgical and outpost nursing, public health. I have focused on birthing, postpartum and NICU. I completed many certicates along the way. Certificates include Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor and Lactation Consultant. After I finished my degrees I focused in maternal child nursing. I became an in-hospital educator and then a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the maternal child area.
I arrived at Mohawk in 2007 as faculty where I have been able to work in a learning environment - my favourite place to be. I am very pleased and honoured to be in this role. I enjoy promoting nursing, and being and learning with people who are on a career path towards a very rewarding profession.
