Geordie Millar has taught animators life drawing, anatomy, animal drawing, art direction and acting for over 28 years and counting. He studied drawing, painting & anatomy at the Art Students League & National Academy in NYC and privately with artists such as Dune Illustrator John Schoenherr and animal painter George McLean.

As well as teaching life drawing for animators at Mohawk College he also teaches life drawing and art direction for animation at Sheridan College in Oakville.

Millar’s own artwork focuses on animals, landscape & perceptions of natural history. It is represented in the permanent collections of the New Brunswick Art Bank, the Royal Ontario Museum & The National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

His work with film director Guillermo del Toro can be viewed onscreen in ‘The Shape of Water’, ‘Nightmare Alley’, the Netflix series ‘Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities’  and del Toro’s upcoming feature adaptation of ‘Frankenstein’.
