Irene brings more than 25 years of experience in the construction materials industry. She has experience in materials testing, quality control and customer technical support. Irene is a graduate of the Mohawk College Civil Engineering Technology program. Since 1991, she has been a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologist (OACETT).
Irene’s has a vast area of skills, experience and knowledge in construction materials. Irene managed the quality control activities for a major construction company. The company did major road and highway construction, widening and extensions. They worked on the QEW, 400-series highways, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. She also oversaw major re-surfacing projects. Resurfacing projects included the Hamilton International Airport runway and taxiway. She also oversaw many roads and mountain accesses resurfacing. These were in preparation for events such as the 2003 World Cycling Championship in Hamilton, Ontario.
Mohawk College welcomed Irene as an Professor in 2007. She has been sharing her knowledge and experience with a variety of students from various program disciplines.
