Karina Arias academic background is in Sociology, she studied Sociology for five years at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and obtained her Licenciatura in Sociologia. When she moved to Canada, she was an ESL student for more than a year until she passed the TOEFL exam and was accepted at McMaster University in the Sociology Program where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Sociology. She has been teaching at Mohawk College in the Department of Liberal Studies since 2002 and her areas of expertise are Women’s Studies, Political Economy, Sociology and Globalization. She is passionate to promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in her workplace. In her free time, Karina walks daily in the forest with her dog, enjoys cooking new dishes and spending time with her children.
