Maria is a seasoned marketing communications professional with several years of experience in the international advertising arena, working with retail and corporate clients, and developing their marketing strategies through award-winning, multi-channel campaigns. Moving to Canada with her family in 2011, Maria worked in higher education, specializing in corporate communication roles where she led branding and communication initiatives across different departments.
In the Fall of 2018, she joined the Mohawk community, teaching in the communications and business schools. She has since garnered experience in instructional design, incorporating a learner-centered reflective approach in her course deliveries, which allows for an environment that encourages open dialogue and critical thinking.
Maria holds diplomas in instructional design, advanced graphic design, and teaching English as a second language. She has also earned a BSc. in business administration, and an MBA with a focus in Marketing.
