Nina has over 20 years experience as an educator in both the private and public sector. She has been teaching at Mohawk College since 2008 as a Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC), English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Occupation Specific Language Training (OSLT) for Health Sciences, Business, Marketing and Entrepreneur Instructor. She has years of international experience, having taught in Portugal, Finland, and Netherlands. While in Finland, she taught Business English to senior level executives from the government, financial, technological, pharmaceutical, marketing and manufacturing sectors.
Nina holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics from McMaster University and a Master of Education Degree with a focus on Leadership and Administration from Brock University. She is both TESL Ontario Certified (OCELT) and Ontario Certified (OCT). She is a Mohawk College alumna, having graduated from the Human Resources Management Graduate Certificate Program.
Nina comes from a family of entrepreneurs and helped with the family business for over 25 years. She is a strong believer in lifelong learning and loves working with her students. She is passionate about creating experiential learning opportunities for her students and building community connections. She is fluent in Portuguese and speaks French and Spanish.
