Rajinder Virk served as the Cardiovascular Technology Program Coordinator for more than two decades and now continues her role as Professor in the program. Rajinder is a previous recipient of the Mohawk College Award of Excellence, she is passionate about providing humanized healthcare and committed to student success, developing future ambassadors to represent the profession of Cardiology Technology across Canada.
As a lifelong learner, Rajinder became a Registered Cardiology Technologist with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) in 1985. Since then, she has written the Advanced Certification and the Ontario Specialty exams in Stress testing, Holter Monitoring and Pacemaker Technologies. Rajinder holds a BEd in Adult Education and a Masters Degree in Education from Brock University, specializing in Teaching, Learning, and Development.
For over 35 years Rajinder has devoted herself to the field of Cardiovascular Technology, actively employed in the field as well as dedicating herself to curriculum development and the education and training of new Cardiology Technologists. She constantly raises the awareness of the profession to the community and is an active member of the CSCT and the Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists (OSCT).
Most recently, Rajinder led the Cardiovascular Technology program through the rigorous accreditation process with Accreditation Canada’s EQual program. A process that is designed to ensure national standards for educational programs in designated health sciences professions, thereby contributing to the competency of graduates and the quality of patient care in Canada.
