Shaun Iles holds a Diploma in General Arts and Science from Mohawk College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from McMaster University and a Master of Education and Sustainability from the University of Toronto. Since 2008, he has been a professor at Mohawk College teaching courses in Sociology, Environmental Sustainability and Applied Research Methods. Shaun's teaching expertise, characterized by innovative methods such as gamification, has gained global acclaim, earning him two international awards for gamification and innovation in education in 2014-15. He is frequently invited to deliver talks at education technology conferences worldwide. Outside the classroom, Shaun is engaged in exploring technological advancements, particularly in additive manufacturing, and actively pursues entrepreneurial ventures that resonate with his diverse interests beyond academia.
