Tara Dinyer is a professor in Health, Wellness and Fitness at Mohawk College. Tara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s degree in Science from McMaster University. 

Tara has worked in the industry as a fitness facility manager, presenter, personal trainer, group fitness instructor, strength and conditioning coach, and personal trainer/group fitness leader course conductor. She is a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), Personal Trainer (canfitpro PTS), group fitness instructor (canfitpro FIS), Indoor Cycling Instructor (Keiser), Older Adult Fitness Specialist, and holds many other fitness certifications. You will find her teaching Anatomy, Intro to Health & Wellness, Facilities Equipment & Design, and Counseling Prescription. 

Tara is currently an International Faculty Lead and a board member for the Community Support Centre Haldimand Norfolk. Tara owns her own small business, and was a nominee for Small Business of the Year Haldimand Norfolk 2018. In addition, Tara was the 2024 recipient of the Mohawk College Presidents Award of Excellence - Faculty, CiCAN Gold Award for Leadership - Faculty, and has been the Sachem Readers Choice Fitness Instructor of the Year from 2016-2023 inclusive.
