Readiness to Learn at Mohawk College

Program description

This course is designed to support you as you consider your training, education, or work options.  Build transferable skills and explore training options, such as the Better Jobs Ontario or Academic Upgrading program, to help you meet your goals. 

The four-week program provides:

  • two-hour weekly in-person sessions, at the Community Employment Services Centennial location
  • nine hours of self-paced learning activities that help you build a foundation in digital and financial literacy to support your education and employment goals

Topics covered:

  • Digital Literacy: Use a variety of foundational digital tools to communicate and find information with confidence.
  • Reading: Use a range of reading strategies to demonstrate comprehension of a variety of informational and literary texts.
  • Financial Literacy: Use a range of numeracy skills to perform essential financial tasks.
