Primary duties
We are looking for a Seamstress / Embroidery Operator to support our production team in Hamilton.

This position is for someone with sewing and/or embroidery experience. The ideal candidate wants to work in a fun, fast paced environment with a focus on the apparel industry.

DUTIES

  • Operation of embroidery and industrial sewing machines.
  • Reviewing proof to verify instructions and accuracy of production runs.
  • Checking fabrics, garments, and finishing materials for defects.
  • Setup of productions and machines, including loading of garments and alignment of designs.
  • Accurate matching of design colours with threads.
  • Inventory management of necessary supplies.
  • Conforming to quality standards and established productivity targets.
  • General machine maintenance including lubrication and bobbin replacement.
  • Assist in the support of various production needs as required.
  • Collaborate with staff and assist with customer consultations.
  • Communicating with a variety of different teams.
  • Self management, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Produce results on a quick turn over.
  • Inspection and quality control of products.
Skills and Experience Required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience managing order process and workflow of sewing and embroidery productions.
  • Experience operating and managing embroidery and sewing machinery. Barudan and Juki systems are an asset.
  • Strong problem solving skills with an ability to respond in real-time.
  • Obtain a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interacting with a number of different teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Meeting deadlines while staying on top of project flow.
  • Self-management, multitasking, and time management abilities are required.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience operating industrial sewing equipment.
  • Experience operating industrial multi-head embroidery machine.
