Primary duties
- Assist senior designers in conceptualizing and developing design concepts that meet client objectives and project requirements
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and site visits, actively contributing ideas and insights to design discussions
- Create detailed design drawings, mood boards, and presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and team members
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and other external partners to source materials, furniture, and accessories that align with project specifications and budget constraints
- Support the project management team in coordinating project schedules, budgets, and timelines to ensure timely and successful project delivery
- Conduct research on emerging design trends, materials, and technologies to stay informed and inspired
- Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining project files, organizing samples, and updating design documentation
- Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities within deadlines while demonstrating commitment to the project, client and the team
- Develop design solutions in line with project scope, client brand, lead times and budgets
- Strong conceptual and spatial design skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate ideas into compelling visual presentations
- Knowledge of current design techniques, trends and processes
- Experience in space planning, colour theory, material selection and design fundamentals
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as projects dictate
- Strong time management and highly organized
- Creative and artistic talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work
- Knowledge of sign construction and practices is an asset
Develop technical sketches and/or layouts pertaining to project and design details
Education and Qualifications:
- College Degree or Diploma in Interior Design
- Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a directly related professional environment
- Proficient in industry software: AutoCAD (Revit, Sketch Up, 3D Max is an asset) with ability to edit and create drawings
- Experience with Commercial Construction is an asset
- Valid Driver’s license is required
