Primary duties
- Responsible for planning and supporting children in their learning in an Early Childhood program. Conducive to quality care and using the Early Learning Framework (ELECT) and Think, Feel, Act documentation that compliments our "How Does Learning Happen?"; curriculum (the content of learning) & pedagogy (how learning happens).
- To provide an indoor & outdoor environment as a third teacher that is inclusive to all children that invites them to investigate, imagine, think, create, problem solve and make meaning from their experiences.
- Responsible for fostering the four foundations (belonging, well-being, engagement and expression) that supports the children's emotional, physical, cognitive and social development.
- Responsible for understanding child development, children from different perspectives & their family through parent engagement.
Skills and Experience Required
- Education: Graduate of a recognized diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education and is registered and in good standing with the College of ECE.
- Training: Must have a current Standard first aid and CPR C certification
- Must have current food handlers
- Must participate in QCCN Institute #1 & #2 when offered
- WHMIS
- Health & Safety Awareness
