"International Holocaust Remembrance Day commemorates the victims of the Holocaust around January 27. It was officially proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on November 1, 2005. The resolution followed a special session held earlier that year during which the United Nations General Assembly marked the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau on January 27, 1945, and the end of the Holocaust. On behalf of Library and Archives Canada and our partners, we invite you to a virtual commemoration of this important day."
