Continuing Education Bursaries Application

The CE Bursaries Application is an integrated all-in-one awards application administered by Financial Assistance.  By submitting your online application, you will be reviewed for all of the available awards and bursaries that we have to offer! This application contains 9 pages and will take approximated 30 minutes to complete.

The CE Bursaries Application for the Winter 2025 semester will be available from:

December 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025, 4:30 pm.

 

By completing this application you will be reviewed for the following:

  • Institution-Funded Special Bursary (IFSB), 
  • Bursary for Continuing Education Students (BCES), or
  • Continuing Education Donor Awards. 

Eligibility:

  • You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
  • For CE Donor Awards only, you must be an Ontario resident for the past 12 months
  • For IFSB and BCES only, you must not be receiving grant or loan funding from:
    • The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
    • The Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP)
    • Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career)
    • Any student financial assistance program from another province, territory or country
  • You must be enrolled in an approved Continuing Education course(s) which include programs that are at least four weeks in duration and lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • You must complete the term for which you are receiving assistance. If you withdraw from your course(s), you will be required to repay the bursary funding you received for that term.

Maintaining Eligibility - You must fully complete all courses funded through this program. If you fail to do so, you must successfully complete one term funded through your own resources to be eligible for this bursary again.

 

Before you apply...

Step 1: Gather your supporting documents

You will be asked to submit supporting documents in this application depending on your living situation. Documents may include: your last 3 paystubs or a proof of income statement to confirm your income, marriage certificate, divorce affidavit, your children's birth certificate, etc. You will be required to upload your documents directly in this application.

Step 2: Write your application letter

You will be required to submit an application letter indicating why you are applying for financial assistance. Include your educational goals and any community involvement or volunteer experience.

Step 3: Apply online

Your CE Bursaries application must be completed online and cannot be processed without your supporting documentation.  Hardcopy applications are not available.

Step 4: Register for your course

If you have not yet registered, complete the online Continuing Education Registration Form and forward it to cereg [at] mohawkcollege.ca (cereg[at]mohawkcollege[dot]ca).

Registration Forms will not be accepted through this application.

  • If you have paid for your course(s) and your application has been approved for funding, you will be emailed details for a possible refund after the third week of class.
  • If you have not paid for your course(s), you must submit your completed Registration Form at least 10 days prior to the start of your chosen course(s). If approved, you will receive an email confirming your financial support and further directions.
  • If you are applying for financial support less than 10 days before the start of your course(s), you will be required to register for your course(s) and pay the full registration fee upfront.
  • Application submissions will be reviewed within 5 business days and a review outcome will be emailed to you within 10 days.
