City School Application - Fall Semester

  • Protected person / refugee claimant with notice of decision
Note: Those who are only granted permission to be in the country on a temporary basis are not eligible to take City School courses (e.g. visitor’s visa, study permit, work permit).
Priority Criteria

Priority is given to individuals who meet one or more of the criteria:

  • No or limited postsecondary experience. (i.e., Not having previously completed an apprenticeship, and/or a certificate, diploma, and/or a degree at a college or university).

  • Currently receiving government financial assistance - Ontario Works (OW), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), or Employment Insurance (EI). 

  • Unemployed or Underemployed

  • Living on low household income

You do not need to meet any of these criteria to apply, but spots will be offered first to applicants who are in one or more of these categories.

Note: If no, you will be waitlisted and offered a spot only once registration has been completed for those who meet the priority criteria.
Will you be registered in another college or university course or program at the same time you intend to take a City School course? (This includes full-time or part-time studies, continuing education, and/or apprenticeships programs within or outside of Mohawk College).
Note: Anyone who will be registered in another college or university course or program will not be eligible to register for City School courses.
Your student record with City School will reflect your lived name, however your legal name (if different) will assist us in reviewing your student record and determining eligibility. A member of the City School team may reach out to discuss. 

Any tax forms will be generated in the students' legal name

(Such records include: mailing address, email address, transcripts, credentials, verifications, OneCard, portal and learning platforms. Any tax forms will be generated in the students' legal name.)
