Co-op Work Permit for International Students (WIL)

All international students participating in a work-integrated learning activity (co-op work term, field/practicum/clinical placement, or service learning activity) must have a valid Co-op Work Permit issued by Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC) prior to going out on placement.

Please note: Students who do not submit a copy of a valid Co-op Work Permit will not be able to begin their scheduled placement.

How to Apply for a Co-op Work Permit  

  • There is no cost to apply for Co-op Work Permit. 
  • You will need a letter from Mohawk College that confirms work is an integral part of your program. This letter can be requested through The Letter Request Form. Please select the required letter option "Work Permit (Co-op/Placement)".
