The Winter Scholarships and Bursaries application will be available until January 31, 2025
The Scholarships and Bursaries application is an integrated all-in-one awards application administered by Financial Assistance. By submitting one application per semester, you will be reviewed for all of the available scholarships and bursaries that we have to offer!
This application contains 12 pages and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
Before You Apply
- Ensure that your address is up-to-date in MyMohawk (opens new window) on the Home page under "Personal Information".
- Confirm your SIN through MyMohawk (opens new window) on the Finances tab, click "Submit or verify my SIN". Funds received through this application are taxable and receiving an award will generate a T4A tax document.
- Be aware that if you withdraw from studies, you will be required to repay all of the award funding you received this semester.

Domestic Students
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Protected Person.
- Have lived in Canada for the past 12 consecutive months and/or have lived in Ontario for the past 12 consecutive months.
- You must be registered with a full-time course load in a post-secondary or apprenticeship program by January 31.
- Returning students to Mohawk must have a successful previous academic record.
- An academic integrity infraction may impact your eligibility.
- Students in MoMac programs other than BScN need to apply at their home institutions.
- Co-op students are eligible for a limited number of awards due to funding availability.
International Students
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be registered with a full-time course load by January 31.
- Returning students to Mohawk must have a successful previous academic record.

- Students in MoMac programs other than BScN need to apply at their home institutions.

Your Co-Curricular Record (Optional)
Your Co-Curricular Record (CCR) (opens in new window) is a non-academic transcript where students can track on and off-campus community involvement such as volunteering and leadership opportunities.
- Many of our awards require volunteer experience. Your CCR can include verified volunteer involvement and will assist us in reviews for those awards.
- Your official CCR pdf, found in your Career Ready portal through MyMohawk, can be uploaded to this application.
- No email or hard copy submissions will be accepted.

Your Budget
Completing a budget (excel download) with your expenses and resources for this semester (4 months) will help us determine your financial need.
- Your excel budget sheet is meant to assist you with filling in the budget section of this application and is not required to be submitted with your application.
- You may be asked to provide proof of payments or income to verify the amounts you have claimed in your budget.
- Questions about what to include in your budget can be sent to awards [at] mohawkcollege.ca (awards[at]mohawkcollege[dot]ca).
Important Information
Withdrawing from studies or dropping to part-time
- Students who withdraw from studies or drop to part-time in the semester they are provided funding will be required to repay any funds provided through this application.
Review Process
- Financial need is reviewed and calculated by the Financial Assistance Office who will include all available confirmed resources. You may be contacted to provide confirmation or proof of claimed expenses.
- All student budget expenses will be reviewed based on the Ministry guideline of allowable expenses.
- The assessment and decisions by Mohawk College are final. All fund-related decisions will be made in a fair and substantiated fashion, according to the availability of funds.
Notifications
- Financial Assistance will only contact students at their Mohawk College email address. Emails will be sent to you from awards [at] mohawkcollege.ca (awards[at]mohawkcollege[dot]ca).
- Students completing and submitting their application are responsible to read and review all messages from Financial Assistance.
- Failure to respond to email requests from awards [at] mohawkcollege.ca (awards[at]mohawkcollege[dot]ca) may result in you being removed from consideration for funding or a delay in allocating funds.
- Students inquiring about their application submission must send their inquiry from their Mohawk College email account.
- Students can indicate if they do not want to receive emails from Financial Assistance but notifications or updates regarding application submissions will not be sent to an alternate email address.
- Timelines for award notifications vary every semester. All applicants will be notified as to the outcome of their review via their Mohawk College email account by the end of the semester.
- Reviews will be ongoing until the end of the semester. As the funding reviews are completed, the determined recipients will be notified. It is your responsibility to monitor and respond as requested.
Application Submissions
- All information submitted within this application will be kept in the strictest confidence and can only be disclosed to the student applicant via their Mohawk College email.
- If you need to adjust or edit your application after it has been submitted, you will need to submit another application with your adjustments before the closing date. Your last submission will be reviewed.
