Volunteer with the Mohawk Sustainability Green Team

The Green Team is a group of student volunteers with a collective interest in sustainability initiatives at Mohawk, promoting greener actions and learning about a variety of sustainability topics along the way.

Under the supervision of the Mohawk Sustainability Office, training and support is provided for Green Team volunteers to:

• Participate in peer-to-peer outreach
• Assist members of the college community with sorting their waste using college waste stations
• Promote connecting with Mohawk Sustainability and our programs and services
• Attend volunteer opportunities shaped by the volunteers’ interests as a group

Time Commitment

• Minimum of 3 events per semester

Relevant Skills

• Have an interest in sustainability and the environment with an interest in learning more
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, reliable, punctual and consistent
• Culturally sensitive and open to increasing your capacity and knowledge of cultural awareness

***The next Green Team Orientation will be offered in January 2025. By signing up for the Green Team, you will be placed on a waiting list, and we will send you an invite closer to the orientation date.
