The Book Nook Guidelines
The Book Nook aims as an additional resource for students to expand their perspective and literacy skills. The Book Nook serves as a bridge for students to learn new stories as well as find representation within stories similar to their own.
The Book Nook is located at the Stoney Creek campus in The Gathering Place (Room C118) and is affiliated with the Student Life Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
All books in The Book Nook catalogue are free for all current Mohawk students to borrow. However, it is the responsibility of the student to keep Student Life informed of any changes that may impact their ability to return or borrow books. Failure to meet the following responsibilities can result in losing your privileges:
- Returning books borrowed in poor condition
- Not returning books borrowed on time
- Not completing the borrowing or return forms accurately
- Not informing Student Life of any borrowed books that were damaged, lost or stolen.
Students can direct any requests for new books to be added to the catalogue at student.life@mohawkcollege.ca
BORROWING PERIOD / LIMITATIONS
- Students can borrow a book for up to 14 days.
- Only 1 book per student can be borrowed out at a time.
- Decorative books cannot be borrowed
- Borrowed books can be renewed unless it has been requested by another student (limit of 1 renewal per book).
- Students must complete the digital borrowing form prior to removing any books
- Student must complete the digital return form after returning any books borrowed
