Traditional Apprenticeship

Have an employer? You’re ready to begin the apprenticeship program at Mohawk!

Once an apprentice has an employer and is registered with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development, their apprenticeship begins.

Apprentices taking their pathway through Mohawk will apply to the Industrial Electrician – 442A and the Electrician (Construction and Maintenance) - 309A programs.

There is a waiting time of up to 1.5 years before the Ministry sends an offer of in-class training. An apprenticeship takes approximately 5 years to complete.

Alumni Story

“I’ve always been a technical, hands-on person and was very interested in industrial automation, so the fact that Gerrie is a distributor for electrical automation is fantastic. Plus, the relationship between Gerrie and Mohawk is valued as Gerrie continues to scout Mohawk graduates to join the Gerrie Electric family."
