This apprenticeship program covers the required in-class training for the Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic trade.

Accessible description of the apprenticeship program format

Start: Find an employer or sponsor for your training. 

Register: Register with Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)

Level 1: Complete the on the job and in-school requirements.

Level 2: Complete the on the job and in-school requirements.

Completion: Become a Journeyperson by successfully completing the certificate of qualification (C of Q) Exam.

Offers of classroom training are issued by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development and registered with Skilled Trades Ontario.

  • On-the-Job Training Duration: 4,020 hours with your employer
  • In-School Training Duration: 480 hours at Mohawk College
