After more than 20 years working directly in the ECE field, Melodie began working part-time with Mohawk College as the Field Placement Coordinator for the Early Childhood Education department in June of 2013 at the Brantford-Laurier Campus. She continued part-time work as faculty, while working full time in the field, until beginning her full time position in January 2016.
Melodie received her ECE diploma from Conestoga College, became certified with the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario, and later completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with the University of Waterloo.
As an early childhood educator, Melodie has had a variety of experiences including teaching children ages 0-12 years, managing licensed child care, leading a team of professionals who support adult educators and managing family support programs. Melodie's current and former work involves community engagement and integrating supports for families and children. As a parent of a young child, she is reminded every day why the early years are such a critical point in a child's life.
