Mary Martin started her career in Insurance Claims handling Personal, Commercial, Property, Auto & Liability losses as an adjuster for a major insurer. She has also taught Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) night school courses at the Hamilton/Niagara Insurance Institute and was a marker for the CIP National Examinations for the Insurance Institute of Canada.
Mary joined Mohawk College as a professor in 2005 and has been teaching various CIP and Business-related courses in the Mckeil School of Business ever since. Mary was the Insurance Program Co-ordinator from 2011 - 2016, during which time she co-developed the one-week RIBO licensing course for graduates of the Insurance program. During this time, she also worked with the co-op specialist at Mohawk to re-introduce the co-op option to the Insurance program.
Mary has been a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada since 1990, when she attained her fellowship from McMaster University. She graduated from the Co-op Insurance program at Mohawk College and attained her AIIC (now known as CIP) designation through the Insurance Institute of Canada. Mary has a combined industry/teaching career of over 35 years.
