Dr. Hannah Plumer-Moodie is a professor and coordinator of anthropology on the Liberal Studies faculty at Mohawk College. She earned her PhD in archaeology from the University of Sheffield in 2017, has a master’s degree in anthropology from Brandeis University, and a BA in anthropology from Ohio University. Her area of expertise is human osteology and bioarchaeology, paleopathology, fragmented human remains, and skeletal conservation.
Hannah’s PhD focused on the archaeology, osteology, and pathology of ancient indigenous Maya populations of northwestern, Belize. She is the author of the British Archaeological Review volume Health Among the Maya, which explored her PhD dissertation topic, and is the author of several papers.
Hannah is also working with the government of Belize to identify, conserve, and rehouse colonial era human remains from Belize City. She has been teaching full time at Mohawk College since January 2021.
