What you'll learn
- Acquire specialized training in hand and power tools, piping materials, plumbing fixtures, supports and appurtenances and workplace safety.
- Master the skills of plan reading, pipe layout, cutting, grooving, fitting, joining and supports.
- Plan, layout and install plumbing materials according to plans, specifications and building codes in both residential and industrial-commercial institutional (ICI) construction.
- Install and repair potable water systems, backflow preventers, drainage, wastewater and venting systems, hot water tanks and heating systems, gas piping, grease and oil interceptors.
- Understand the importance of workplace safety, building codes and regulations.
- Build a gratifying career as a qualified journeyperson in the skilled trade of plumbing.
