Program Highlights
- Select one of four program streams:
- All eligible program entrants receive two years’ worth of credit from their previously completed college advanced diploma. Students enter into Level 3 of the program.
- All courses are offered during evenings and Saturdays at McMaster University or online.
- Complete 24 courses, including 7 management courses, to earn your degree.
- Prepare for upward career mobility or further education.
- Average lecture size is only 28 students.
- Course content and projects are developed in response to today’s industry needs.
- Software Engineering Technology courses and exams are offered fully online, allowing students to complete their degree remotely.
What you'll learn
- Civil Engineering Infrastructure Technology:
- Evaluation, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation, as well as decision making and asset management of various infrastructures from both technical and managerial points of view.
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology:
- Manufacturing process planning and improvement, structure design and analysis, and system control and analysis from both technical and managerial points of view.
- Power and Energy Engineering Technology:
- Power quality, protection, control, energy management, and renewable energy technologies such as biomass, fuel-cells, geothermal, solar, and wind from both technical and managerial points of view.
- Software Engineering Technology:
- Design, development, and deployment of computing systems in the software products and computing infrastructure areas from both technical and managerial points of view.
Program Length
- 24 courses
- Full-time: 2.5 years (7 semesters)
- Part-time: 3-4 years
Admission
Admission
Students are required to have a minimum cumulative average of 75% in their Advanced Diploma for the Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Power and Energy Engineering Technology and Software Engineering Technology streams, and a minimum cumulative average of 80% for the Civil Engineering Infrastructure Technology stream. Co-op
All programs include eight months (two academic terms) of co-op work. Students who have already completed at least two co-op terms as part of their college diploma or who will have sufficient work experience in a related field by the time course requirements are completed can be assessed for a waiver.
