Power Outage and Data Centre Maintenance – July 13 - 14, 2024

All Facilities/Buildings at the Mohawk College Fennell Campus will be closed from 10 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024 to 7 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2024, due to a scheduled Fennell campus power outage and work on the Data Centre. 

Most IT systems will be unavailable during the outage including VPN access. The college's main website (mohawkcollege.ca), MyMohawk and MyCanvas, will be accessible during the outage. Please ensure you save the files needed during this time frame to your local drive.

During the outage, only essential contractors and employees related to this work will be permitted on the Fennell Campus.

If you work on campus regularly, to prepare for the shutdown, we ask that you please complete the following:

  • Ensure all open electronic documents are saved
  • Power off your computer, monitor(s) and printer (if you have one).
  • Turn off all lights, including task lights such as lamps and desk lighting.  If you are the last person to leave your office area, turn off the overhead lights.
  • If you have a small fridge, remove the contents, turn off the refrigerator and unplug it, leaving the door open.
  • If you have a fan/and or heater, please turn it off.
  • Switch off power bars, where possible.

Mohawk College, Stoney Creek Campus: LED Lighting Replacement

Facility Services is completing LED Lighting and Controls Replacement at Mohawk College, Stoney Creek Campus. The project includes all rooms and corridors, Campus Wide. 

General work hours are Monday to Friday 10:00PM to 6:00AM (after-hours).

The Contractor will start on Monday, January 29, 2024 and the lighting will continue until the end of August.

Please note: At first, the LED lighting may seem brighter than usual, however, once the controls are installed, they will be dimmable and will be adjusted to suit the spaces.
