Brian MacDowall received his Honours Bachelor of Arts (MA, 2006) from Victoria College at the University of Toronto, and a Masters (MA, 2007) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD, 2017) in History from York University. With comprehensive speciality in Canada, U.S., and Modern European fields, Brian’s academic research and peer-reviewed publications examine post-Confederation Canadian grassroots political movements between Indigenous nations and settler communities. Brian is a passionate educator and has taught extensively at a number of post-secondary institutions in Ontario for more than fifteen years. When not teaching, Brian enjoys running, writing science fiction, and cheering/jeering the Leafs.
