Amanda Marazia graduated from the Mohawk College Insurance program and started her career at as a RIBO (Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario) licensed insurance broker. She worked as a broker for a couple of years and then made the transition to the corporate side as an underwriter for a large company. Amanda volunteered as an Ambassador for the Insurance Institute’s Career Connections programs, which involved presenting and educating career possibilities within the Insurance industry to secondary school students. After underwriting for several years, an opportunity presented itself for Amanda to transition to Mohawk College as a part time faculty member, and she has never looked back.
Amanda’s educational journey once she graduated from Mohawk College, continued as she obtained her RIBO license, completed her CIP designation, and than her CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) as well, while working as a licensed broker. Once she had made the transition to underwriting for a large corporation, she continued her educational journey by then completing her FCIP. She obtained her designation as a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada in 2012, through McMaster University. Amanda also holds a CRM designation (Canadian Risk Management) which was also attained via McMaster University.
Amanda has been a professor at Mohawk College since 2013 teaching both CIP and non-CIP courses in the Insurance Program predominantly, as well as other business programs as required. She has also taught the Accelerated RIBO Preparatory Course offered to graduating students upon completing their requirements to graduate from the diploma program.
