Mark Shannelly is a Professor, Game Designer, and Musician. With over ten years’ experience in the video game industry as a game designer, project manager, and sound designer, Mark has worked on many games, from text-based browser RPGs, to 3D adventure games on Steam, Nintendo Switch and PS4. Most notably, Mark led the design and development of Quest Milton, the award-winning mobile app created for the Milton Public Library.
Mark combines over 25 years of experience as a musician, composer, producer and engineer with his game design career, creating music and sound effects for games in a broad-range of genres.
Mark has over 15 years’ experience as a music teacher, and started teaching game design in 2018. Mark currently works as a professor at Mohawk College, Conestoga College, and Wilfrid Laurier University in their respective game design and development programs, teaching classes in sound design for games, web game development, Unity development, interaction design, and critical game analysis.
