MoCrew Campus Hosts

 

Apply now to become a MoCrew Campus Host for 2024-2025!

The MoCrew Campus Hosts Program provides a unique opportunity for student leaders to act as ambassadors of the college and work with youth in our nearby communities. MoCrew Campus Hosts receive training in early May to prepare them to support a variety of campus programs and events that cater to elementary, middle school, and high school students in the greater Hamilton area. These initiatives are often aimed at encouraging future postsecondary education participation and provide students with a glimpse into the college experience.  

Benefits of Becoming a MoCrew Campus Host  

  • Giving back to the community in a meaningful way  

  • Enhancing your communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills 

  • Working with staff and faculty across the college  

  • Gaining experience working with children and teenagers  

  • Receiving an honorarium for your time (at least $25/day) and co-curricular credit

Steps to Getting Involved  

  1. Complete the MoCrew Campus Hosts Application Form. 

  1. Attend one of the Virtual Campus Hosts Info Sessions with Student Life (sign up via the application form). 

  1. Pass the Student Rights & Responsibilities Check (we will do this for you). 

  1. Attend training on Wednesday, May 15 (Fennell Campus) and Thursday, May 16 (Stoney Creek Campus) at 9am – 12pm each day. 

  1. Respond to the MoCrew Campus Hosts emails that will get sent throughout the year (1-3 emails/month) when you are available to support an initiative.  

  1. Be prepared to volunteer for all events you sign up for and schedule them into your calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts or tardiness.  

Important Dates

  • MoCrew Campus Hosts application period: Wednesday, April 3 - Thursday, May 2

  • Virtual Info Sessions (students only need to attend one):

    • Tuesday, April 9, 12:15pm – 12:45pm

    • Friday, April 19 at 10am – 10:30am 

    • Tuesday, April 30 at 10am – 10:30am

    • Thursday, May 2 at 10am – 10:30am

  • Training Day #1: Wednesday, May 15 at 9am – 12:30pm (Fennell Campus) 

  • Training Day #2: Thursday, May 16 at 9am – 12:00pm (Stoney Creek Campus)  

  • Destination College and CODE Fest Virtual Training: Friday, May 17 at 10am - 12pm (Zoom)
