Primary duties
Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, and
chopping vegetables and fruits. - Measure and prepare ingredients as instructed by chefs.
Assist in basic cooking tasks
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils,
and kitchen equipment. - Ensure all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas are clean and organized.
- Dispose of garbage and waste in compliance with restaurant policies and
regulations.
Inventory Management: - Assist with the unloading and storage of deliveries.
- Organize pantry and refrigerator items, ensuring proper rotation of stock to
maintain freshness.
Safety and Compliance: - Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adhere to food safety standards, including proper food handling and storage
procedures. - Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the kitchen
manager.
Support Duties: - Assist chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.
- Prepare simple dishes and snacks under supervision.
- Assist in plating and presentation of meals.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred
but not required. - Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and cleanliness.
