Pre-EAP Foundations (COMM 10397)

Note
: The Pre-EAP Foundations course is for students of English as a Second or Other Language.

Students develop Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills in addition to developing their vocabulary and improving their grammar at a high-beginner level (CEFR A2). Mohawk College recommends that students have an English proficiency of CLB 3 or IELTS 2.5 before beginning this course. Students who pass this course can continue their English language development in the GAS-English for Academic Purposes (EAP) post-secondary program.

Length: 1 semester (14 weeks)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Start Dates: May, September, and January
Open to: International and Domestic students
Tuition: International $4385 (+ HST and ancillary fees), Domestic $964 (+ HST and ancillary fees)

  • Eligible for international study visa
  • Taught by certified EAP faculty and linked to the EAP community
  • Not eligible for international work permits or OSAP
  • Note: After completing the Pre-EAP Foundations course successfully, students can enroll in the EAP Program, which is OSAP eligible for domestic students.
