Chris Owen is currently a full time professor and co-coordinator of the Massage Therapy program at Fennel. He has been a Massage Therapist since 2002 and has been teaching at the college level since 2003. After completing his Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, he went on to continue his education at the post-graduate level in Corporate Communications and Public Relations. It was there he decided to continue his education in the health sciences and become a Registered Massage Therapist.
While working in this role, Chris decided to further his interests in health related practices and he applied for and earned a role as a Doping Control Officer working with the national organization furthering "clean sports", with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. Among the highlights at this role were managing and organizing doping control test sites for Canadian National Athletic Championships, Test Events at the Whistler Sliding Centre, Pan-Am Games of 2015 and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
