Mohawk College Library 

Mohawk College Library is recruiting Casual Part-Time Library Technician support in any one of the campus locations. This position is a point of contact for library users who access library facilities, systems, and services. The incumbent provides a high level of support to users in-person, by phone, via email, and online chat including:

  • library and information services such as circulation; reference; information literacy; and orientation to library services, research databases, online library catalogue and various associated resources
  • library operational support such as preparing and processing resource materials; collecting, tracking and gather statistics for analysis
  • required to work shifts, including a combination of early shifts and late shifts to support Library services operating hours.

Discusses the functions of library technicians. Includes the results of the biennial Ontario Association of Library Technicians/ Association des Bibliotechniciens de L'Ontario (OALT/ABO) survey wherein it states that 46% of the respondents have a degree in addition to their qualification as library technician.
