SIGMA 2025

SIGMA at Mohawk College

SIGMA at Mohawk College is a competition for high school students keen on exploring practical applications of mathematics and statistics across various interdisciplinary fields such as business, engineering, aviation, health sciences, music and many more.

Students are invited to attend a one-day event in May 2025 (date TBD) at Mohawk College, Fennell Campus, 135 Fennell Avenue West, Hamilton.

Competition Rules

Only students registered in (or have completed in previous semester) the Applied/College Math courses in grade 10, grade 11, and grade 12: MFM2P/MFM3C/MCF3M/MCT4C/MAP4C are eligible to compete. 

Competitors will participate in Part A – working as a team of two on long answers application problems and in Part B – working individually on short answer math questions.
