Tuition Fee Exceptions

Students not considered citizens or permanent residents may be eligible to pay domestic tuition fees based on current immigration status. This may apply to students in the following group(s). Required documents must be provided to verify eligibility for a revised fee assessment.

Students are encouraged to provide this information prior to accepting an offer of admission or before timetable selection opens. International fees apply if these requirements are not met.

Refugee Claimants are subject to international tuition and fees. Refugee Claimants should apply to Mohawk College as an International Student. Visit the Applying to Mohawk as an International Student web page for details on the application process. Exceptions can only be made once a student obtains a Notice of Decision which would indicate their new status as either a Protected Person or Convention Refugee, or other eligible Status in Canada. A student is responsible for bringing forward the necessary documents if and when received.

Timelines for submitting documents: A change in status is not retroactive to fees assessed or paid for previous terms of study. The deadline to adjust fees for the current term is day 10 of each term (last day to add and drop courses) as per the Academic and Important Dates for each term. Some programs may follow an exception calendar with a different deadline. Changes made after this date will apply to future terms only.

Questions? Complete the Email Admissions form if you have any questions regarding your application or document submission. Ensure you include your MohawkID (Student Number) or OCAS Application Number, and program of study when submitting the form.
