Driver's License and Vehicle

Please note that many of the co-op positions for this program require that students have a valid driver’s license ('G' class preferred) and access to a vehicle.

Co-op Designation

This program offers three co-op work term opportunities but requires two completed co-op work terms for the co-op designation.

  • Issues in Criminology
  • Basic use of Behaviour Management, Safety, and De-escalation Training
  • Investigation and surveillance principles, techniques, procedures, evidence gathering and reporting, policy design and management
  • Electronic security
  • Interviewing techniques
  • Group dynamics, social and psychological awareness in public and private security
  • Diversity and First Nations
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Physical fitness training and wellness planning
  • Understanding of CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) purpose and core function
  • Preparatory studies for external accreditation of licensing requirements exam
