Health insurance is mandatory for international students and is offered through Mohawk College's insurance provider, Guard.me. You cannot opt out of this coverage.
Near the end of the first month of each term, health insurance cards and information on how to make claims will be emailed to you through your college MyMohawk email account. The cost of health insurance is included in your tuition.
Note: Cards will be emailed in the last week of September/January/May. The title of the email is: "Healthcare Access Card". If you need your policy earlier, email international.services [at] mohawkcollege.ca (international[dot]services[at]mohawkcollege[dot]ca) with the name of the attending DR. or hospital that is requiring.

Extended Health Coverage – Additional Cost
Additional extended health care coverage that includes dental and vision coverage as well as other items, is available through the Mohawk Student's Association (MSA). More information on additional insurance coverage can be obtained directly from the MSA, located at Fennel Campus, room G109.
Tip: Not all services are covered by the basic health coverage that is included for all international student. You may wish to purchase additional coverage.
Family Member Coverage – Additional Cost
It is possible (and recommended) to purchase additional insurance coverage for any family members that are here in Canada with you. Effective Fall 2018 we will no longer be purchasing health insurance for families of students. You can order directly from Guard Me. Visit: Guard.me and click on Dependents.
Tip: Medical care services are readily available to all Mohawk College students. The Mohawk College Health Clinic is located at the Fennell Campus, Room C109.
